Strabo's Well

"Who has put wisdom in the innermost being,
Or has given understanding to the mind?
Who can count the clouds by wisdom,
Or tip the water jars of the heavens?"
- Job 38:36,37

Cenotaph (1)

O thou whose head is hidden, give me thy arm:
I place the enemies in the Place of Slaughter,
in the Place of Destruction.
Thy secret is thine ...
Lead me to the roads of the West. (2)

I light the dark Netherworld,
I command my followers when I pass by their cave; (3)
They praise me and jubilate on account of me,
Their souls rest upon their corpses.
I pass through those who are in Tatunen, (4)
I pass through the Impassable Netherworld,
to see my corpse which is in the earth,
to light my shapes and my forms.

You enemies of Osiris, (speak thus to me)
your corpses are cut up, your heads are destroyed. (5)
your souls are caught, your blood is shed;
your shadows are subdued, your shapes are not;
you are destroyed in the Place of Destruction.

You (who) are the enemies of Osiris, whose words
the Great Council which is in the Secret Place
has judged in the presence of Osiris.
He gives to them evil places
in the Place of Destruction. (6)
This great god cast evil against the enemies of Osiris.
The approaching of this great god
to his cave which is in the Netherworld.
When he enters his field the forms
which are in the Netherworld
come forth and give their hands.

Anubis who is hidden of nature,
who puts the gods in their abodes. (7)
Re says to this cavern: (8)
O Ye two great goddesses, very great ones,
guarding the secret abodes,
while Anubis is guarding it (namely)
that which contains the corpses,
(and the) secrets of this lord of shapes.
Behold I pass this cave in the earth
I light you. I expel your darkness. (9)

(This text refers to a scene which "shows Anubis in front of two vertical
ellipses with a female figure and drops of blood (?) in each of them,
and between them a sun disk..")

His shape is his secret,
when he has come into existence
in his first beginning of being created.
This great one, he speaks to them;
they speak to him; he lights them with his light
in his cavern ... he sees
Then the darkness hides them
when he has passed. (10)

notes

(1) A cenotaph is a false tomb - i.e. it has all the trappings of a tomb, but the body is not buried there. This was a common practice in Ancient Egypt. These texts are excerpted in order from the report by Frankfort.

(2) The account describes events as told by Leviathan .

(3) The seventeen small cells around the perimeter of the Central Hall are for human observers, whom come periodically to study the creature.

(4) The creation god, who had human form.

(5) Traditionally, Osiris was cut into many small pieces by his enemy Seth, and the pieces were entombed in the Osireion. The alien was evidently tortured, and subjected to vivisection.

(6) The Place of Destruction is the Osireion; Osiris is the name of the extraterrestrial entity; the Great Council are humans who know this secret and whom abuse the alien's great mental prowess.

(7) Anubis is god of the dead, guiding the visitors through the Underworld into the kingdom of Osiris. He is the only one who knows how to access the Osireion, leading the members of the Great Council there into the presence of Osiris.

(8) Re is the conscience of Anubis, which is why he is recording these things.

(9) Anubis is saying this to enlighten the reader with the truth.

(10) A darkness due to the aliens' "field" affects the mind of certain highly sensitive individuals who come near to Osiris.
