This link gets you to my Amazon Associate bookstore, with short reviews of a few favorite books off the living room book shelves. It's a bibliography for the nontechnical research, as book reviews. The books cover everything from ancient Egyptian mythology and religion to modern spiritualist books of the New Age, Judaic, and Christian genders. They all have a story to tell, and some don't say so directly ~ but I fill in between the lines.
What do books have to say? One volume by Abraham Heschel talks about an extremely fundamentalist sect of Jews that was powerful in the late 1800's and hateful enough of the mainstream Jews ~ perhaps enough to foment the hatred that led to the Holocaust. If modern Arabs can be driven to do what the terrorists do every day now; why not the Jews in less civilized times past?
Many of the "pagan" books I review are nothing more than applied psychology. Modern psychology is depending almost exclusively on drugs these days, and special interests are so powerful; that those of us who still believe in the power of the mind and the body are heretics. It's just another purge under the auspices of science and the status quo. God Bless pagans for preserving our psychological heritage.
