Father Kase Clearey could trace his family back beyond the dawn of history when the O'Cleareys were the Antiquarians or keepers-of-history, one of the three ruling Druid classes. He also believed God was speaking to him. The Church excommunicated Father Kase, cruelly branding his sincere beliefs as psychotic. Enter Sister Maria "Nikki" Gateaux, of a secret heretical Order called the Albigensians, believed extinct since the 1200's when they were burned at the stake as Witches by the Inquisition.
Kase is supremely obstinate, in fighting the Church to clear his good name and confirm his profound faith. He fights the entirety of the Status Quo, a modern day Don Quixote with a brilliant mind, a warm heart, and a hilarious wit. Nikki becomes his guardian angel, his pillar of strength; as they tumble through a dazzling menagerie of adventures, leading to an ancient Temple in Egypt with the key to many pagan as well as Biblical truths. Ultimately they discard all the trappings of modern religion, and embrace the ancient spirituality of the Earth goddess, Isis. Rated PG13 for some light sexuality.
This autobiographical novel is laced with episodes from real life - some obviously so, others not evident as such until the very end. The ancient Temple is for real. The many compelling inferences extrapolated from this mysterious Osireion at Abydois are at first too incredible to be true, but become more credible as the story goes on. First it's not a Temple, but part of a massive aqueduct serving a long lost civilization. Then it's not an aqueduct, but a Star Gate accessing an intergalactic dominion. Kase figures out how it works; trys it - and viola, he's transported to the opposite side of the Earth ~ unfortunately, right back to Texas and the epicenter of the Evil Empire...________________________________
